Wherever there are trees and shrubs with large edible seeds, human communities of all times and places have developed ways to use these as a major component of their diet. We can continue this tradition today. This class will be part discussion of seed/nut ecology and part ID walk, but mostly hands on processing of various wild nuts with various tools and techniques. Special focus will be put on acorns and hickories, but other species will be touched on as well.
