This class will discuss the natural and cultural history of fire in our bioregion. We will also discuss how modern land stewards and restorationists use fire to mend damaged landscapes and maintain ecological health. We will showcase the tools of the trade, explain how to safely conduct a prescribed fire, and give you an opportunity to participate in a demonstration burn yourself (weather permitting).
