Native Habitats of the Irish Hills Area

 10am – 12pm
Part 1: Uplands – Enjoy a journey through dynamic dry upland habitats. Visit several different types from forest, to savanna, to prairie. Compare and contrast the features that make each area unique, and how each works together to contribute to the overall ecological matrix that makes up the general Irish Hills bioregion

Noon – 1pm. Bring a sack lunch. We’ll eat together and share observations from habitats visited in part one.

1pm – 3pm
Part 2: Wetlands – Wander through several wonderful wetlands from swamps, to fens, to the marshy edge of a pond. Take a close look at the many species inhabiting these places and the relationships between them. Explore the ways in which these, often neglected, spaces are vital to the health and wellbeing of our landscapes.
